Suzanne Wilson-McMahon* – PARTNER
Suzanne is the family expert at the Practice. She graduated in Law from Bristol Polytechnic and did her articles in a small family firm based in the West End and North London. She qualified aa s solicitor in 1983,
remaining with the same firm for some time after. In 1986 she came to Symons and Gay as an assistant solicitor and became a Partner in 1990. Sue is a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel and Resolution (formerly Solicitors Family Law Association) and is the firms Family Law contract supervisor.
Jacqueline Stringer – PARTNER
Jacqueline graduated from the University of Kent at Canterbury in 1981 with an Honors Degree in Law. Jacqueline joined Symons & Gay in November 1999. She has spent time at the Treasury Solicitors
department, the London Borough of Lambeth, The Agricultural Mortgage Corporation, Freedman & Co in the City and as part of the initial team setting up E D C Lord in Brentwood (now Countrywide Property Lawyers); she has also spent time as a lecturer teaching academic and practical law. Jacqueline specialises in all areas of Domestic Conveyancing
Edward LelandPARTNER
Edward joined Midland Bank (now HSBC) in 1979 and worked for them for 10 years. In 1989 he joined the family firm Leland & Co.
In 2001 Leland & Co merged with Clarke & Norris to be known as Leland Swaby Clarke & Norris.
Edward qualified as a Legal Executive and was admitted as a Fellow in 2002. He became a Partner in 2010, and remains a Partner in the merged firm of Symons, Gay & Leland LLP.
Edward deals with all matters relating to domestic conveyancing.
Helen Stuart PARTNER
Helen obtained a BS (Hons) degree in English and an MA in Applied Linguistics. Helen joined Leland Swaby Clarke & Norris in March 2007 as a Legal Executive.
She studied for her LPC at BPP Law School, while working at Leland Swaby Clarke & Norris.
She was invited to become a Partner in 2011, and remains a Partner.
In the merged firm of Symons, Gay & Leland LLP. Helen deals with Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trusts and Probate.
Shaun qualified as a solicitor in 2003. Shaun worked at Bennett Welch solicitors in South London from 2003 to 2014 where he specialised in residential and commercial property matters. During Shaun's time at Bennett Welch
he dealt with many complicated and high value residential and commercial property transactions.
Shaun is one of the few genuine specialists in the very complicated and niche area of property law known as adverse possession ("squatters' rights"). He has dealt with many successful claims for adverse possession. Shaun has also acted for property owners in dealing with adverse possession claims from occupiers and has done so successfully in the past including negotiating settlements on behalf property owners.
Clifford HarrisSOLICITOR
Clifford studied law at the University of Wales and at the College of Law followed by Training in London. He qualified in 1991 and has practiced locally for most of the time. Clifford main area of Law is Litigation and family work.
Clifford joined the firm in January 2007 and heads the Litigation department.
Ben attended the University of East London where he got his Law degree.
After working in the voluntary sector Ben practised Law.
He obtained the STEP certificate in Trusts and Estates.
Ben Willans
Ben deals with Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Trusts.
